off-site day PHAN on May 4, 2026

Every year, the PhAN team organizes a day-long event held off-site, known as an “off-site day.” It is a special opportunity for work and reflection on various topics

On May 4, members of the UMR-PhAN took a step back from their daily work and collectively reflected on preparations for HCERES, the unit’s project, and ways to improve team cohesion.Hervé Blottière and Gwénola Le Dréan (DU and DUa) led the early morning session, encouraging us to identify our strengths and areas for potential improvement. An outside facilitator then guided us in using collective intelligence tools to reflect on our operations, our organization, our successes, and the challenges we may face on a daily basis. In the afternoon, a summary of the points identified that morning allowed us to identify avenues for improvement for the future. This year, management delegated the organization of this event to the lab’s CSR Group, which chose Solilab on the Île de Nantes (dedicated to the social and solidarity economy) as the host location. Here, vegetarian meals and water conservation are the norm. The toilets, for example, use 100 times less water than conventional toilets. The end of the day was fun and focused on team building. Games involving memory, communication, dexterity, and knowledge (about the consequences of human activity on environmental degradation) encouraged all staff members to interact, fostering the team spirit and sense of community essential to our research activities.
