Susan Ozanne is Professor of Developmental Endocrinology in the Wellcome-MRC Institute of Metabolic Science Metabolic Research Laboratories and the MRC Metabolic Diseases Unit at the University of Cambridge. She heads Epigenetic Programming of Metabolic Health across the Life Course programme, which aims to define the mechanistic basis of the relationship between suboptimal early life nutrition and risk of diseases such as type 2 diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular disease in later life. The long-term goal of this research is to use this mechanistic insight to design rational intervention strategies to improve the health of women and their children.
