A look back at the RESEED conference on June 4, 2026

RESEED (REcherche SciEntifiquE Durable) is a group composed of representatives from all the research laboratories within the SFR Bonamy (including UMR-PhAN) that is committed to assisting, informing, and proposing concrete solutions for the development of sustainable research practices. On June 4, RESEED organized an event for all SFR Bonamy staff titled: “Meeting and Sharing Experiences for Sustainable Research #1.” Following a presentation of RESEED by Vincent Sauzeau and Laurent Maillet from the University of Nantes, other speakers, François Delavat (USB2), Marine Trapani (Target), Pierre de Coppet (PhAN), and Sophie Barillé-Nion (CRCI2NA), took turns showcasing concrete achievements in laboratories, discussing communication strategies, and presenting action plans. It was also an opportunity to discuss successes, challenges encountered, and, above all, to propose solutions. Next, Mathieu Bouffard from the University of Nantes presented some aspects of Lab 1.5, after which the floor was opened to the sponsoring organizations. Matthieu Thépin for INSERM, Dylan Olivier for the CNRS, Gaelle Mourier-Bouchon for the University of Nantes, and Pierre-Yves Manach for INRAE outlined the ecological and societal transformation initiatives implemented at their respective institutions. The event concluded with a friendly reception that allowed for further discussion. The various activities and the afternoon’s program were very well received. The success of this initiative has already prompted the organizers to start thinking about the next edition (#2). Stay tuned…
