Conference 7 - Nantes University Scientific Day - Tuesday 27 May 2025

Scientific symposium - Research into the first 1000 days and DOHaD in 2025

27 May 2025

La Cité des Congrès - NANTES

The aim of this symposium, organised by Hervé Blottière, DU of UMR 1280 PhAN, will be to take stock of research on the first 1,000 days of life and the concept of the Developmental Origin of Health and Disease (DOHaD). The work carried out at UMR PhAN on this theme will be particularly highlighted. External speakers will also be invited. The first 1,000 days of life, including pregnancy, are a critical period in the development of the foetus, the newborn and the child, but also contribute to their future health. We will discuss how early events (foetal and neonatal periods) such as malnutrition, exposure to xenobiotics (drugs, pesticides) and the metabolic status of parents increase the risk of illnesses later in life, including cardiometabolic, inflammatory and psychiatric diseases. The focus will be on the microbiota-gut-brain axis. The importance of placental flow and maternal milk will also be discussed. The deadline for registration is May 11.
